Courses Description

Career in animation is relatively new as compared to other traditional careers. Animation is a combination of art and technologies where moving images are created in 2d and 3d to impress, educate, and entertain viewers and users. This technique can be used to bring characters to life and make it appear like they are in motion! These days, computers and various software are used to create works of animation (2D & 3D). This field is also known as CGI.

Animation is a specialized technique that is to be learnt in a proper manner from an animation college. To thrive in this field, one must possess a set of skills and qualities. They are-

  • Computer and Software skills

  • Drawing / sketching Capabilities

  • Ability to get into character

  • Communication skills (to interact with team)

  • Patience and Concentration

  • Eye for detail

  • Teamwork skills

COURSES, DURATION & ELIGIBILITY:

  • BACHELOR’S DEGREE COURSES

  • Bachelor of Visual Arts (Animation)

  • BA in Animation & Multimedia

  • B.Sc. in Animation & Multimedia

  • BA in Animation and Graphic Design

  • B.Sc. in Animation and VFX

  • BA in Digital Filmmaking and Animation

  • B.Sc. in Animation and Gaming

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation, Graphics and Web Design

  • BA in Animation and CG Arts

Bachelor’s Degree programs are UG Degree courses. The course duration is 3 years. Students who have passed 10+2 (any stream- Science, Commerce or Arts) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course. Minimum marks criteria may exist in case of some institutes (around 50% marks).

  • DIPLOMA COURSES

  • Diploma in 2D Animation

  • Diploma in 3D Animation

  • Diploma in VFX

  • Diploma in CG Animation

  • Diploma in Animation, Video Editing and Post Production works

  • Diploma in Digital Animation

  • Diploma in Animation and Filmmaking

  • Diploma in Animation and VFX

Diploma programs generally has a duration of 1 year. But course duration may vary from one institute to another. Some institutes offer even 6 months long Diploma courses.

  • CERTIFICATE COURSES

  • Certificate in 2D Animation

  • Certificate in VFX

  • Certificate in 3D Animation

  • Certificate in Editing, Mixing and Post Production Works

  • Certificate in CG Arts

Certificate programs’ duration depends on the institute. Course duration could be anywhere between 3-6 months. Students who have passed 10th standard are eligible to pursue certificate courses.

  • PG courses: MA in Animation and Multimedia,  M.Sc. in Animation and Multimedia M.Sc. in Visual Effects, MA in Digital Filmmaking and Animation, M.Sc. in Animation and Digital Filmmaking, PG Diploma in Animation etc. 

FUTURE SCOPES:

After completing a Bachelor’s degree, an animator could be absorbed in web designing, advertising, video making, editing, games development, and even in film industry. Animation also allows freedom of expression in ways of visuals. It gives you the opportunity to express your ideas in the most fascinating forms. Candidates completing 2d and 3d animation classes successfully are in for a vast opportunity to test their skills and knowledge. Entertainment industry in India of films and television are among the leading sectors for an aspiring animators. Use of special effects is gradually increasing in Indian films and television shows. Special effects is a direct representation of 2d and 3d techniques as taught in animation courses. Only trained animators can create fascinating special effects as we view on screens.
